Hartmanice - Synagogue
Mountain Synagogue in Hartmanice is the only reconstructed synagogue in Šumava Mountains. It was saved by Hartmanice Memorial Association after seven decades of devastation and is open for the public since 2006.
Main exhibition is dedicated to the common living of Czech, Germans and Jews on the territory of Šumava from the first colonisation on the turn of the first and second millennium till the annexation of the territory by Nazi Germany in 1938, World War II, Holocaust and after war expulsion of German inhabitants. Exhibition includes documents, historical items as same as video and audio recordings which openly commemorates the history.
