Kdyně - the Church of St. Nicholas

The town of Kdyně has two significant ecclesiastic monuments – the Church of St. Nicholas and the former Jewisch synagogue. The Church of St. Nicholas forms the panorama of the town and its onion shaped dome with a gilded cross shows the way to the sanctuary, which originated in the 2nd half of the 14th century. From the former structure the groined vaults of the presbytery are preserved above all. The dynasty of Stadions plays an important role in extending the church – their coart – of -arms decorates its frontage up to now.
