Chudenice - Kvapil's ponds
Kvapil's lakes were originally a small pond in a forest meadow near Žďár, on the other side of this hill from Chudenice. It used to be used as a swimming pool, the surface was full of water lilies. The writer Jaroslav Kvapil liked to come here to relax during his student years. And this is exactly the place he had in mind when writing the libretto for Dvořák's opera Rusalka.
