Plánice - Křížovice

Křížovice is a local part of the town of Plánice. It lies in the picturesque valley of the Křížovické stream, also called Voborka. The first mention of Křížovice /allegedly a village of "cross" people/ is found in the Land Registers and is from 1551. The next one is again in the Land Registers in 1558, when together with Zdebořice and Pláníc they fall under the Zelená Hora castle in Nepomuk.

It is certainly worth remembering that silver was mined in the vicinity of Křížovice and, according to some sources, the local stream was one of the places where gold was panned in the ancient past, and the establishment of the local settlement is probably related to this.
