Běšiny - Hořákov - castle
Horákov Castle is one of the lesser-known buildings not only in the Běšinsk region, although it is located on the I/27 road from Klatov to Železná Ruda, and even an attentive observer can see it directly from the road, about halfway up the hill between the villages of Běšiny and Čachrov. It is a new building from the second half of the 19th century. Today the castle is repaired and in private hands.
There is a small park around the castle. The current castle is a storey building with a rectangular floor plan decorated with corner bosses from the second half of the 19th century. The rizalites on the east and west facades, as well as the additions on the north and south facades, are from 1900. In the gable of the west facade is a clock. Today, it is not known exactly when the fortress was founded in Hořákov, nor is its original appearance known. It can be assumed that it could have been as early as the 14th century, when Hořákov is first mentioned, and when it was divided between Bozděch, Hašek and Přech. Later, the owners changed. It is certain that the fortress was rebuilt into a castle, the floor plan of which was captured in the maps. However, the castle was demolished and in the second half of the 19th century the then owners built a new castle in Kordík. The castle was still structurally modified in 1900 to its present form.
