Týnec - Loreta
Loreta is a settlement among forests on a hill above Klatov. An interesting feature of Loreto is the reconstructed Loreto pilgrimage chapel founded in 1711 by Barbara Krakowska from Kolovrat with the Kolowrat and Vrbno coats of arms and a fresco of the Virgin Mary of Loreto. The chapel fell apart in 1783 and was rebuilt in 1831. Today the chapel is partially reconstructed. The frescoes in the interior of the chapel were also restored.
Limestone was mined in Loreto in the century before last. At first, the limestone was mined on the surface, and after it was mined, a shaft was dug to the underground deposit, probably in 1889. The underground corridors run on three floors above each other, their total length is about 1100 meters. The old mining tunnel, a technical monument, is characterized by a system of corridors with the remains of crystalline limestone mining. Limestone mining on Loreto was finished in 1910. Nowadays, the old tunnel is an important nesting place for several species of bats, especially the big bat. Announced area: the territory is 13.65 ha.
There is also a former hunting lodge built during the reign of the Kolovrat family, probably at the beginning of the 18th century, on Loreto. The building of the former castle is a storey, covered with a mansard roof with a facade of five window axes and a vaulted ground floor. Today, this object serves as a game reserve.
