Bolešiny

The first written mention of Bolešine is from 1524, when Bolešine Chrást (an old village) and Pečetín belonged to the Zelenohorský estate. Another written mention can be dated to 1566, when Bolešiny belonged to the Kaffunk family from Poborovice. A valuable written report is from 1584, when the village was owned by the lords of Štenberk, who acquired it by dividing the estates of Zelenohorského and Plánického. In 1612, the Štenberks sold the village to Mr. Přibík, Koc from Dobrš, and the settlement became part of the residential estate. In 1789, Count Thun became the owner of Bolešin. Since 1827, the village has been the property of the Knights of Malta. The municipality of Bolešiny itself is relatively young. Nevertheless, in the world of historians and experts of the oldest settlement of our homeland, finds from its surroundings are known. On the road near the settlement of Čínovec stands an unmissable monument - the Na Stráni chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Two educational trails pass through the surroundings of Bolešin, "Wandering around Bolešin I. and II. (each 2.5 km long), which map the attractions of the local region. In Mlýn Podhora near Domažliček, you can visit the museum of a small hydroelectric power plant.
